Airbrush Face Painting FAQs

  • Our face painting makeup is water based and easily removed with mild soap and water.
  • The average duration of our face painting designs is usually 8 hours or more. Even if designs get wet (i.e. showers) but not rubbed or wipped, designs can last even longer.
  • Single face painting designs typically take no more than 30 seconds. Full face design may take up to 5 minutes each.
  • We have over 200 designs. Custom designs are avialable.
  • We average 75 to 100 guests per hour.

1. Airbrush - Is the airbrush method safe?

Yes. The airbursh setup in itself is safe when operated by a trained individual. At Creative Faces,LLC we are highly trained and take all necessary precautions against unsafe conditions. The airbursh method is an extremely clean and safe method of applying makeup.

2. Airbrush - Can the paint get in your eyes?

While it is possible, we take precaution to not allow the makeup to get into your eyes. We typically ask quests to close their eyes if spraying is close.

3. Airbrush - What type of paint do you use?

Our special water base make-up paint is FDA approved. It will not rub off on clothes or skin, will not fade, is water resistant (as long as you don't try to wipe it). It removes easily with soap and water! It is so safe, you can even spray it in your hair!

4. Airbrush - When you apply your paint, what about the overspray?

Because we use very low air pressure, overspray is not a problem. We do not spray enough paint that would be harmful to someone even if you breathe it in. The ingredients are FDA approved. The are non-toxic and not likely to cause harm.

5. Airbrush - What type of glitter do you use?

We use only synthetic glitter, made of a soft plastic material therefore it is not harmful.

6. Airbrush - Can you have an allergic reaction from getting painted?

There is always the possibility for guests with sensitive skin to have an allergic reaction to any type of abnormal skin contact. We have had NO cases to date where our paints have caused allergic reactions. Guests with known sensitive skin may opt to have a small area painted to sample their skin reaction.

7. Airbrush - Will the paint get on your clothes?

Our painters take every precaution to not have any spills. Outside of the occasional (very very rare) spill, the make-up paint goes where we want it too.

8. Airbrush - What does it feel like?

Airbrushing on your body feels like a very cool mist being blown onto your body. On hot days, it is pleasant relief. On cooler days, it is a bit chilly.

10. Digital - If I have a specific theme, can I choose my design?

We are happy to discuss any theme in more detail. The range of things we can do is quite wide. We are expanding continously.

11. Digital - Do I have to place an order the day of the shoot?

For some events (i.e. team photos, etc), pictures will be taken individually and as a group. You do not have to order the day of the shoot. However, see the "How long do I have to order?"

12. Digital - How long do I have to order?

Mail in orders are accepted up to 14 days after the shoot. After 14 days, you may order by phone and online. Note: phone orders and online orders will have NC sales tax and shipping added to the order total.

13. Digital - How long will images remain online?

Images will remain online for approximately 3 months after the event. If you are looking for photos older than 3 months, please contact us for additional guidance.

14. Digital - What's a "memory mate"?

A memory mate is an graphical image that combines a team photo and individual player photo all on one shet. It is accompanied by graphics specific tot he sport (i.e. basketball, baseball, football, etc). It is an easy way to get a team picture without ordering a separate one.

89. Do you take credit cards? on site?

We currently do not accept credit cards. However, we will be investigating providing this as a payment option in the near future.

90. General - When is payment due?

Payment is due upon the completion of the event. There is a non-refundable deposit required for booking a date for our digital event photography services.

91. General - Will you travel to an event that is out of town?

Yes. Travel & Accommodation fee may be charged depending on timings and location of the event.

92. General - How much lead time do you require?

We typical ask that events be scheduled as far ahead as possible. We prefer a 30 days lead time however we are willing to work with your depending on our availability.
